Qualifications, Not Quotas | Exposing DEI in the U.S. Secret Service

This Secret Service agent is blowing the whistle on DEI policies that put mission readiness at risk.

Rashid Ellis has spent years serving with honor, proving himself a leader in the United States Secret Service.

But now he’s speaking out against failed DEI policies that have undermined the Secret Service’s readiness and mission.

Ellis experienced the consequences of these policies directly. When it came time for a well-earned promotion, Ellis was passed over for someone less experienced due to the USSS’s institutionalized goal of 30% female hires. Ellis had the qualifications, but the agency chose its quota instead.

According to Ellis, this discriminatory quota system has fostered resentment, undermined morale, and prioritized identity over merit in an agency where hiring decisions are a matter of life and death.
