I am a retired teacher. The only way to improve our schools is to make them competitive. Given the sorry state they are in, parents must be given the opportunity to choose a quality education for their child. School Choice is the best way to do that. Give each parent either a credit or voucher that can be used to pay for private education. Watch the private sector step up to the plate and fill the need. With all the wasted funds in public education, the private sector should have little problem competing with government-run schools.
